There are many astrological symbols that occur in the sky and one of the most intriguing is an Eclipse. Whether it is a lunar eclipse or a solar eclipse the symbolism ignites a firestorm of emotions for those who follow the sky closely. Those who do not follow the sky still inadvertently feel the effects of these eclipses in varying ways. Some people will feel a direct impact. Some will be in situations that could bring a sudden change in life that presents a new journey. Fear not no matter what happens you are moving forward into clarity.
This year on 12/21 there is a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice during a Mercury Retrograde. Since it is on the Solstice the Moon will be directly overhead. You will start seeing the effects at around 1:30 am EST and will be in a total eclipse from 2:41 am until 3:53 am EST. According to NASA the last time there was a total Lunar Eclipse on the Solstice was in 1378 (for you numerology folks that is 632 years ago and 6+3+2= 11)
The Moon represents the mother in all of us. Yes, men too. The balance that equates to the unity of civilization comes from the understanding of embracing the divine feminine in all of us.
Some astrologers shy away from the gender roles that the planets* represent. I see their point but I think we need to look beyond the roles of gender as we see them here in our society.
I personally do not have an issue with assigning genders to the planets. This is because planets in their overall representation give us the wholeness that we seek. The planets balance us out with one another. It is of this thought that the uniting of energy of all the planets gives us an opportunity to grow into that wholeness. So if the Moon represents the Feminine the Sun balances that out with the Masculine. The other planets do the same.
The Winter Solstice has had many meanings over the years. Physically it represents the day with the least amount of light. For me the Winter Solstice represents the “Birth of the Sun”. The reason for this is light increases each day until the Summer Solstice. Then the cycle reverses.
The importance of this eclipse is that it is the first leg of the “Divine Gateway” toward 2012. The others are the Venus Eclipse of June 2012 and Solar Eclipse of the November 2012.
2 years to the day after the Winter Solstice of 2010 is the remarkable transition of consciousness of the Winter Solstice of 2012. This Lunar Eclipse embarks us on the final trajectory toward that pattern. Balance must be stricken in order to give us hope in the new spirit. This is here to free us to be lovers of the whole to see the truest essence of all.
You are either cognitively aware of this or you are not. Even if you are not aware you still are riding the currants that will eventually give you insight toward the space needed to be one with the divine source. This in turn will give you an opportunity to know the true gift of faith. Not faith in a material form of God\Goddess but faith in the soul of Goddess\God, which resides in all of us.
As with any Lunar Eclipse Mother Earth and the Moon come together in unison with the Sun. It would seem reasonable to me to see this occurrence is a balancing act of sorts with ourselves the Earth and the two most visible parts of the sky; the Sun and Moon.
With Mercury in retrograde this Divine Gateway is seen as within ourselves. How we communicate and interact with each other will be changing. As we evolve this communication will be a freer more intuitive flow of connecting. With any retrograde planet the introverted nature brings that connectedness to self. This is a reflection of energy that gives us the opportunity for insight into who we truly are.
As the gateway starts to open it is important that we see ourselves clearly. What are the motivations that bring fear to our hearts? These motivations bring the selfishness that drives us away from each other. It might sound backwards but we must know ourselves before we can help others. Many of us martyr ourselves for the sake of others. Maybe we are helping others so we can forget our own sorrows. Wouldn’t it be great to help others help themselves?
Seeing ourselves clearly keeps us from trying to hold pseudo power over those we love. There will no longer need to be any need for control to feel love. It is there within you. Truly seeing ourselves allows us to lose the clutter that causes us to turn our backs on the only true thing that is real; love.
No matter what “seems” to happen to you during this wonderful Astrological phenomenon your spiritual DNA will be altered. This is to prepare you for the next phase. Just like in all phases of evolution this changes happen in varying speeds. So, enjoy the majestic beauty of the eclipse and fear not love is on the way to balance us the rest of the way….
